There are two main dog parks in Wichita, both of which have their pros and cons. The first, located at Chapin Park, is located in the southeast corner of Wichita. The dog park is a well-designed, shaded area featuring a few fountains, a gravel walking path, and plenty of room to roam.
The second park, located at Kiwanis Park in northwest Wichita, is a more well-rounded affair. Featuring a full-sized dog park, a pavilion, and an extensive trail system, this park has everything you could wish for. However, it is not for the faint of heart. Despite the name, dogs are not allowed off-leash in any of the parks, so be sure to keep your pooch on a leash. This is especially true of the dog park, which has two separate areas for large and small dogs.
